How to send SMS using GatewaySMS to Reliance IndiaMobile CDMA
mobiles?
For sending messages to Reliance IndiaMobile CDMA mobile phones
the Sender has to be a 10 digit GSM mobile number eg. 9898989898.
Reliance IndiaMobile CDMA mobile numbers would NOT accept Alpha
Sender eg. GatewaySMS. Also it would not accept Reliance IndiaMobile
CDMA mobile number or a BSNL mobile number (starting with 94)
as the Sender. Only Private GSM mobile number starting with
98 would be accepted as the Sender.
The Reliance IndiaMobile CDMA mobile number to which you are sending
the message you have to follow this format:
CountryCode-STDCode(without any leading "0")-MobileNumber
eg for sending to a Mumbai Reliance India Mobile you should send
it like 912234501135 where 22 is the STD code of Mumbai, 34501135
is the Reliance India Mobile Number. Please note that "22"
has been used instead of "022" as the Mumbai STD Code.
How do people reply to my messages?
People can reply directly to your messages using the reply function
of their mobile phone if you have entered your mobile phone number
on the "From" field when you sent your message. Please
note that numeric originator feature is network dependent. If
your mobile network does not support this feature, recipient will
receive your message with GatewaySMS (or other 11 alphanumeric
character) as the sender.
I sent a message to more than 1 person. Why is it that some
of the recipients got my message with my mobile number as sender
while others got GatewaySMS (or other 11 alphanumeric character)
as sender?
If the destination number is network enabled for numeric originator,
the recipient will receive the message with the sender's mobile
number while non-enabled destination numbers will have GatewaySMS
(or other 11 alphanumeric character) as the sender. Please note
that for sending messages to Reliance IndiaMobile CDMA mobile
phones the Sender has to be a 10 digit GSM mobile number eg. 9898989898.
